Two poems by keith nunes
Dinner a la rotunda
The circular wall is covered with a Seraphine Pick frieze
Built around the wall, one long stemware rack
A greenstone door and
The floor
Covered in a mirror
And the domed ceiling
Covered in a mirror
Table of obsidian
Chairless
A standing-room only
Soundtrack to Valerie
She’s getting
Up on it
Leg-a-lean-long
Lava red atop the bobber
Under foot
Ink-on-arms pump pumping
‘Baby, check it out
Snap it
But not in half
Get a circumnavigation
Aww
Sum
Viewing’
Throws the shade
Crash
Ing
Sun lost
Here comz
Cinematic stars
She’s risen on
Toes
Of higher toning
Pour-in
Werds
Like ferns
Grown
From alphabets
She’s saying
Loud in
Rhyme lines
‘It’s Edgar
Allen
Poe
Etry
Baby!’
